Is it possible that my eye bags are hereditary?
I am 22 years old and my under eye bags are enormous. The bags that I have are below my eyes and I am constantly being told I always look so tired and I am actually well rested. My bags look kind of like sacks of water.
I think it is hereditary because my relatives also have these unusually big sacks under their eyes.

The lower eyelid "bags" that you are seeing is actually fat that bulges out from beneath the eye. This typically occurs in older individuals, but there are situations where this occurs in younger people. This is sometimes hereditary, so that's probably why other family members may have the same condition.
In younger individuals like yourself, the operation typically consists of removing some of the fat through a tiny incision inside the eye. Occasionally, some of this fat can be draped to fill in the "tear trough," a valley that runs from the inside of your lower eyelid towards the face.
