I’ve always heard that treating the tear troughs can be difficult. Are there any new procedures out there yet that are effective?
Answer:
The tear trough is a valley or groove that runs down from the inner corner of the eye to the cheek. If you are having eyelid surgery, this can be improved by transposing the eyelid fat into this groove, in order to fill it. If you are not a candidate for surgery (too young or don’t have eyelid bags) or are not interested in having surgery, this can be filled in with a filler such as Restylane. The procedure is done in the office and the results are great.
