I am a 52 year old female that always likes to look her best! I I have always been one to take care of my appearance and have been “proactive” in any way that I can to help prevent aging. Even when I was young I avoided the sun and always made sure to wear sunscreen. I think this all stemmed from me watching my family members age. I always thought that when I began to see my face “falling “ or my neck “sagging” I would take care of it sooner rather than later. If I was going to do it, why not do it earlier rather than later?
Over the last three years, I noticed my jowls starting to form around the chin area as well as my neck skin beginning to form. My upper eyelids also started drooping a bit. It was time! I asked my cosmetic physician who does my injectable treatments for a recommendation and asked him who would he recommend for a really good and natural facelift. His answer was Andres Bustillo. I called his office and scheduled a consultation.
I arrived at Dr. Bustillo’s office and immediately fell in love with his office. It is so clean and elegant. Beautiful artwork hangs on the walls. His staff was very friendly and Jessica, his coordinator brought me into the consultation room and explained that he would be with me in a few minutes. His greeting when he walked in was “ Hi, I’m Andy Bustillo, how are you?” After all I had heard about him, he was so down to earth. I explained that I felt that my face had aged very quickly over the last few years and that I would really like to do something about it. Because part of my problem was in my neck, fillers did not help the area of most concern to me. He listened and then examined me. He explained the three main things that occur in the face as it ages, the sagging of skin and muscle, the loss of volume, and the decrease in skin elasticity. The then showed me on my face and neck the platysma had fallen and become loose. He then explained where the incisions were placed and made sure that I understood that they would not be visible once they healed. He went over some patient cases and explained the procedure from start to the the end of the healing phase. The last thing he told me was to sleep on it. My mind, however, was already made up.
The surgery was done in his office. At first, this made me somewhat nervous, but the office was fully accredited and I felt much more comfortable knowing that the anesthesiologist were all from Baptist Hospital. I recovered in the office and went home in the afternoon. I was expecting some major pain, as Dr. Bustillo mentioned that about half of the patients have some kind of discomfort. Extra strength Tylenol as all I took. He saw me the next day and removed the bandages. I could already see that my neck was very nice! Seeing this wonderful improvement was all I needed to make the rest of the recovery worth it. By the second week, I was back to most of my daily routine. I still had some swelling in my cheeks that made me look a bit weird, but Dr. Bustillo assured me that this would go down over the next week or so. I returned to work at the end of the second week with a change in hair style a bit and was happy to see that nobody really noticed. I returned to my cosmetic physician for a little Botox and we both looked at each other and I all I could say was “thank you for referring me to Dr. Bustilllo!” I could see in his eyes that he was delighted with the result himself.
